About Brett Starr and Mary Finn
Brett Starr is a photographic artist born and raised in Tucson, Arizona. He picked up a camera for the first time when he was 10 years old and has been making pictures ever since. In 2013 while attending Pima Community College for business administration he took and analog photography one course which ignited his passion for photography. After completing his associates in business he moved to Rochester, New York in 2016 to complete his Bachelors in Fine Art Photography at Rochester Institute of Technology. His work primarily focuses on the relationship between one’s self and the environment. Brett uses 19th century photographic processes to emphasize his love for the photographic object, and enjoys the slowed down process of working in the darkroom. Brett has collaborated with renowned artist Kate Breakey for a two person exhibition “The Sky”. In his free time he hones his skills in craft pizza making and is a licensed bartender as well.
