High Resolution Scans

All high-resolution scans at Photographic Works are done on our Fuji 550 flatbed Scanner. We achieve the quality of a drum scanner without the need to use oil or mounting fluid on your original.

We use an HCT color target to color profile our scanners. We scan transparencies, negatives, and reflective art up to 13x17 inches in size. If you have larger artwork please see our Digital Capture service. We scan your image as Adobe RGB. We are able to convert your scan into CMYK color space if you choose. We scan without unsharp masking. All unsharp masking is done later.

We take great care in scanning your work. Your image is given individual attention. All our scanning prices include burning to a CD and an index print. The index print has proven to be a great tool for keeping our clients organized.

Economy Scans

Our economy scans are for those who do not need the quality of our High Resolution scans but need a file size larger than our Fuji Frontier scan. We scan your 35mm slide film or negative film and 120 transparency and negative film into an sRGB color space. The file size is approximately 25mb. It is an uncompressed TIFF file.

We inspect every scan and do light dust spotting. Economy scans are perfect for medium resolution applications.

Fuji Frontier Scans

We scan your negatives, 120 transparencies, and 35mm slides and burn them onto CD. Our Frontier scans provide a file size of 6.3 mb. It is a compressed JPEG file in sRGB color space. Frontier scans are perfect for website, email and prints up to 8x12.

Flatbed Scans

We scan your original photographs and artwork up to 11"x17" in size in color or black and white grey scale at the dpi requested. Our Fuji 550 flatbed scanner is an extremely fine quality scanner.
